I will overwhelm 'serious combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to promote next month's bout.
Former twice unified title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Boxer's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
Despite those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's biggest money-making draws, consistently making massive paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
